AUSTRALIAN MARINE CONSERVATION ORGANISATION

Australia’s leading national charity dedicated solely to protecting our precious ocean wildlife."

Australia's marine environments are among the planet's richest and most diverse. Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS) undertakes various efforts such as lobbying for policy changes, engaging communities for behavior modifications, focusing on threatened species and ecosystems, and campaigning against drilling for fossil fuels in Australia's waters. The charity's work is aimed at protecting and preserving Australia's precious marine resources for future generations.

"AMCS works on the big issues that risk our ocean wildlife. Together, we have protected critical ocean ecosystems with marine reserves around the nation, including Ningaloo and the Great Barrier Reef. We have led the movement to ban whaling, stopped supertrawlers, and protected threatened and endangered species like the Australian Sea Lion. Together, our community of ocean lovers save our oceans every day."
